The Aboriginal Education program (AEP) has been developed with a cultural awareness of the peoples and landscapes of our regional and remote Aboriginal communities.
The AEP workshops are designed as hands-on incursions where students are introduced to science concepts with a strong focus on numeracy and literacy. The workshops are interactive, flexible, encourage understanding through doing and are themed around the Science Understanding sub-strands of the Australian Curriculum.
DIY Science kits
The AEP DIY kits are a fully self-contained classroom science resource that provide teachers with all the equipment and information needed to run engaging and relevant hands-on science lessons. The activities have been designed using the Science Understanding and Science Inquiry sub-strands of the Western Australian Curriculum incorporating numeracy and literacy. They are aligned with grades 3 to 6 of the Australian Science Curriculum and can be hired for a term.
There are four kits currently available covering biological sciences, physical sciences and Earth & space sciences and chemical sciences.
