Do you have what it takes to be a hero? How would you react in a high-pressure scenario with people's lives at stake?

Rescue puts your students in charge as they discover what it's like to be involved in land, sea and air rescues.

Experience the challenges, technologies and training used by specialist rescue teams through a range of exciting hands-on exhibits such as a full-size helicopter simulator, navigating jet skis around obstacles, find your way through a smoke-filled room, and even use fire extinguishers to put out fires.

Interactive exhibits will educate about medicine, search techniques, radio communication, rescue supplies and equipment.

Check out this short video and get a taste of the excitement in store at Rescue!

Glad you enjoyed Rescue Katie because we think it's awesome too! About 18 months ago a team of inspired Scitech staff put on their creativity hats and began brainstorming Rescue-themed ideas. Then our workshop team started designing and constructing the exhibits. In November this year it opened up to the public, so you can see it takes a pretty long time to set up!
You can come back and fly the helicopter again until May next year when Rescue takes off to another science centre somewhere in the world :-)

Rescue has a wide range of exhibits making it suitable for all age groups. Under sevens love the dress-up area and ballpit in particular, whereas older children will spend their time racing their friends on the jet skis, navigating the helicopter and climbing the rock wall. Really big kids (adults) will enjoy themselves on any exhibit in Rescue!
