digistudio1.jpg The Digital Studio delivers more music, multimedia and animation workshops for your primary, secondary, support and extension groups. It can be used as a learning environment for most subjects, including art, media, english, science, technology and enterprise.

Sounds & Pictures

For students in years PP - 3.

Students use a MIDI keyboard, a microphone and a computer program to explore a range of music & sound effects. They’ll create a funky piece of music using Super Duper Music Looper while expanding fundamental computer skills.

Sound Story Creator

For students in years 2 - 10.

Students write and record a short story to computer. Sound effects are then added to the recorded narration, making the story come to life. This project promotes language and literacy to students.

Music Mix

For students in years 3 - 10.

Using a MIDI music production application, students explore and select from a library of music styles and instruments, then ‘mix’ these as a track to be put on to the class CD, picking up some new technology skills on the way.

Groove Loops

For students in years 4 - 12.

Students write and record a short story to computer. Sound effects are then added to the recorded narration, making the story come to life. This project promotes language and literacy to studentsUsing the hottest audio loops selected from an extensive library of styles from Dance and Electronic to R&B, students create their own compilations. Arranging and digital audio concepts will be discussed. 

Animation Factory

For students in years 5 - 10.

Using imagination, computers, web cameras, various toys and Stop Motion Pro software, students are engaged in a new, fun and challenging way. During the day, participants will learn how to use the software and ‘animate’ objects to make a short movie.

Composer

For students in years 6 - 12.

Students create, notate, arrange, edit and record music using a MIDI keyboard and Sibelius or Cakewalk software.

Film Soundtrack Creator

For students in years 5 - 12.

Using Sibelius, Cakewalk or Sony applications, students synchronize sound effects and add music to a short film. 

Music & Video Clip Producer

For students in years 6 - 12.

Combining audio, video & still images, students produce a music video clip complete with soundtrack, visual effects, titles and credits. 

Sounds Sensational

For students in years 7 - 10.

This session is designed to provide middle school science students with a unique experience linking basic sound principles to the world of audio recording & music production. We look at longitudinal waves, frequency & pitch, loudness & wave amplitude. Students will create a piece of music using audio loops.

All completed projects are burnt to CD or DVD to take home.
