Beyond the Beaker - discovering careers in science

A free touring program designed to inspire Year 8-10 students to pursue careers in science, mathematics, engineering and technology.

Beyond the Beaker is a two-part program delivered at your school. It is available throughout Metropolitan Perth all year, as well as in certain regional areas.

Careers Presentation

Running time: 60 minutes

Group sizes: 60 - 150 students

The Beyond the Beaker multimedia presentation has been recently revamped to explore how science is relevant to the everyday lives of school students, how studying science and maths teaches problem solving abilities that are valuable to employers and explores the wide spectrum of exciting career possibilities in science.  Presented by a team of young, dynamic science graduates, the show has been created to appeal to all student levels and abilities.

Climate Change Workshop

Running time: 90 minutes

An optional follow-up interactive workshop designed specifically for motivated students, this program is designed to encourage scientific thinking and critical analysis of real science scenarios.

Available when presentations for over 300 students are booked.
