An Horizon experience has two components, Horizon Live followed by a full dome space show.
Horizon Live!A 20 minute journey through the Perth night sky, presented by Horizon staff. During this segment students will also be introduced to specific astronomy topics. Following Horizon Live, students will be enthralled by one of our awesome Space Shows. With some of the most mind blowing images of outer space and amazing special effects, our range of space shows cater for all learning levels.
We Are Astronomers (Year 4-12) NEW in Term 4 2010
Do you know what an astronomer does? Today’s astronomer is not the lone observer of past centuries. “We Are Astronomers” follows astronomers from around the globe as they work together, endeavouring to answer the unresolved questions of the stars. See how scientists will use incredible scientific technology such as the James Webb Telescope and the Large Hadron Collider. Participate in an international quest to decipher the code of starlight and uncover the secrets of far off galaxies in “We Are Astronomers”.
Journey to the Stars (Year 3-12)
Tour familiar stellar formations, explore the life and death of the stars and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars.
Zula (Yr 1-3)
Join a wacky team of aliens on this animated adventure through thesolar system. Learn all about weather on Earth and other planets as thecrew tries to foil the plans of the interplanetary villain Dark Truder andrescue their friend Gorga. This immersive show is great for youngerstudents and features the latest in computer generated animation.
Spinning Out (Yr 2-4)
A girl goes on an imaginary journey with her teacher. In this showyou will explore the tilt of the Earth’s axis and how this effects thefour seasons, the hemispheres of the Earth and the equator.
Cosmic Collisions (Year 5 – 12)
A spectacular immersive planetarium experience, Cosmic Collisions launches visitors on a thrilling trip through space and time to explore the cosmic collisions that drive the continuing evolution of the Universe. Experience firsthand the creation of the Moon and the meteorite that brought about the end of the dinosaurs!
Launch Pad (Yr 3-7)
In this fast paced, up-beat exploration of our amazing Solar System two dynamic DJs, Rocketman Jack and Astra Stargazer, count down the top 10 Solar System hits, exposing the weird but true facts about our neighbours in space.
Astronaut (Yr 4-8)
Find out what it takes to become an astronaut. Manoeuvre through the microscopic regions of the human body and float around the International Space Station. See what happens to the human body in zero gravity.
Search for Life (Yr 5-12)
This breathtaking show will take you on a journey from the depthsof the Earth’s oceans to planets outside of our own Solar System.Search for Life explores how scientists are searching as neverbefore for signs of life beyond our own planet.
Infinity Express (Yr 5-12)
Explore of our solar system and beyond. This show explains how astronomical

researchers around the world are mapping the universe to provide answers into age-old questions such as “How did it all begin?” and “Is anybody out there?” and “Where does it end?”.
Mars (Year 6 - 12)
This show explains and explores our neighbour – the red planet. It discusses what we used to think of Mars and covers recent discoveries. With the recent Rover Mars missions looking for water, this is a highly topical and informative show.
Our Living Climate (Year 5 – 12)
Produced collaboratively by Scitech and Museum Victoria this new show presents a dramatic and different way of looking at climate and climate change. A visually spectacular story unfolds on a global scale, revealing how the climate first evolved and how it has been endlessly transformed by weather patterns, Ice Ages and the appearance of new life forms.
