CSIRO Lab on Legs provides a range of exciting hands-on laboratory experiences that highlight the everyday applications of scientific research.
Lab on Legs is available for all students. Once set up in a host school it can cater for up to 4 classes each day.
Slime time – Materials/Chemistry skills (Yr 4-8)
The states of matter can be very intriguing when conducting hands-on experiments to compare the properties of materials. Students will explore and make their own slimes and explore the properties of some natural and processed materials with unusual properties.

Snow time – Materials/Chemistry skills (Yr PP-3)
Kids love chemistry when it’s messy. Students will make their own fake snow and discover that some everyday materials have unusual properties.

Mystery at the manor – Investigating/Experiment skills (Yr 5-12)
Your students use investigative skills to solve a blackmail crime by examining evidence from the scene of a crime.

BHP Billiton Rocks to Rockets – Earth and Beyond/Earth Science skills (Yr 4-8)
An earth science program that explores the mining process from exploration through to the properties of minerals. Students use scientific equipment and techniques that are used in the mining industry.
