Volunteering at Scitech
Scitech volunteers come from all walks of life, spanning the ages 16 to 85. Some of our Sciguides hold doctorates in science, some are just starting out their discovery of science at high school, and others are retirees who have never studied science.
Regardless of their background, all our volunteers are united by a strong passion for STEM and a keen interest in the world around them. By becoming a Sciguide you will be part of this enthusiastic team, and will make new friends, learn new skills and most importantly, make a difference. Scitech offers a unique opportunity for you to inspire and engage people into the fascinating world of STEM.
How do I get involved?
Please fill out the application form and send it in to us. You will be added to a waiting list. When a vacancy is available, you will then be called in for an interview. Please note that there may be a waiting period of up to three months.
"Being a volunteer is an enriching experience where I am always meeting new people and engaging in unique opportunities to share my skills, knowledge, and love for STEM and Science investigation. Every shift is different and being part of a dynamic and innovative team that always welcomes new ideas and expertise makes volunteering at Scitech even more special."Alessandra Morrone, Scitech's Volunteer of the Year 2014
Volunteers can choose what times they want to work, but need to be able to complete a minimum of 6 hours per month. All Scitech volunteers need to be able to provide a valid Working with Children Check.
Previous experience is not essential as full training is provided.
