As we slowly return to a more normal way of life post-COVID lock down, it is important to note that Scitech is still operating with a limited capacity under the Phase 4 guidelines from the WA Government’s COVID-19 WA Roadmap. This means a slightly different visitor experience than what you are used to, most importantly the requirement to purchase/reserve your tickets online in advance — whether you are a new visitor, a Scitech member or a school group.
For the health and safety of our community, all visitors aged 16 years and over are also required to register their visit to the Science Centre and provide contact details for the purpose of contact tracing, either by booking online or registering via the official SafeWA app.
Please see below for health & safety guidelines and a list of FAQs to help you plan ahead before your visit. For more news and updates, get connected through Scitech Facebook, Scitech Instagram, Scitech Twitter, Scitech YouTube and Scitech LinkedIn.
As a precautionary health and wellbeing measure, a few exhibits have been temporarily moved off our floors and we have reduced capacity in our Chevron Science Theatre and the Scitech Planetarium to meet distancing guidelines. The Puppet Theatre will remain closed under phase 4 but please note that during the school holidays we will be running puppet shows on the big stage in the open space near City Views.
Hand sanitiser is available at several locations throughout the Centre while floor markings and other signage is in place. Regular and additional cleaning procedures has been introduced to high touch zones, particularly our interactive exhibits. These modifications will remain in place until the WA Government announces Phase 5 of the COVID-19 WA Roadmap.
In the interest of public health and wellbeing, we ask our visitors to consider the following:
