The Aboriginal Education program (AEP) has been developed with a cultural awareness of the peoples and landscapes of our regional and remote Aboriginal communities.
Student workshops
The AEP workshops are designed as hands-on incursions where students are introduced to science concepts with a strong focus on numeracy and literacy. The workshops are interactive, flexible, encourage understanding through doing and are themed around the Science Understanding sub-strands of the Australian Curriculum.
DIY Science kits
The AEP DIY kits are designed for the primary school curriculum, but the activities within the kits are greatly flexible and have been used successfully with many high school students across WA.
The kits are a fully self-contained classroom science resource that provide teachers with all the equipment and information needed to run engaging and relevant hands-on science lessons. The activities have been designed using the Science Understanding and Science Inquiry sub-strands of the Australian Curriculum incorporating numeracy and literacy.
There are four kits available covering biological sciences, physical sciences, earth & space sciences and chemical sciences.
