The Scitech Planetarium is an unique dome theatre that presents multi-media shows about the night sky, Solar System and beyond. Offering a truly out-of-this-world experience, students can see space like never before and ponder the big questions about our Universe.

This short (5-25min) presenter-led live tour can be personalised to suit your school needs. Experience the amazing night sky, travel to the edge of the known Universe or be stunned by what’s in between. Your students will be encouraged to locate constellations, stars and planets.

Be enthralled by internationally-renowned productions as you journey through the Universe. Shows cater for all learning levels and cover a variety of content including the history of aviation, the Solar System, the life cycle of stars and the importance of human space exploration.

Planet Nine | Years 7-12
Explore the dwarf planet Pluto and its neighbours in the Kuiper belt as we search for a true Ninth Planet. Follow planetary scientist Mike Brown and his team at CalTech as they uncover new and alien worlds, as different from each other as they are to the Earth. Meet the remarkably bright Eris, the spinning egg Haumea, and Sedna, whose orbit takes it deep into the far reaches of the Solar System.

Please note: students need to be ushered to the planetarium at least 15 minutes prior to their booked show. If students or teachers need to exit the planetarium during the show then re-entry is not permitted. The planetarium is not suitable for students under four years. No food or drink is allowed in the theatre.
