National Science Week is Australia’s biggest celebration of science and technology, this year it’s on from 13-21 August.
Hot vs Cold
Two temperatures enter, one temperature leaves – and the results are sure to surprise! Our science presenters explore how the hidden properties of materials affect how heat forms, flows and feels with this astonishing demonstration of thermodynamics.
Audiences will make predictions and test ideas in this ultimate showdown between hot and cold.

Under Pressure
Explore just how much pressure we’re really under as we use nothing but the ocean of air around us – and a little bit of science – to turn your world inside out and upside down.
Although we can’t see it, air pressure is responsible for loads of everyday phenomena – everything from how to open jars, to how our lungs work, to what happens to humans when they go into space.
Join our Science Presenters to investigate, ask questions, make predictions, and test our ideas to understand some of the more surprising and unusual effects it has on the world around us.

Mix and Make
Science can happen in all sorts of places. From the kitchen to the bathroom, students explore what happens when we combine different things – both following a recipe and making up some of their own.
It’s a fun and lively show, mixing explanation with interactive demonstrations to showcase different scientific processes. And just how relevant science is to everyday life.

Element of Surprise
We love learning so much we’ve built tools that allow us to extend our senses and discover even more. See the world around you in a whole new light! Together, we’ll use our tools to explore chemistry and reveal unseen properties.

Beyond the Beaker
Welcome to the future – where science, technology, engineering and maths are essential to both our work and day-to-day activities than ever before.
Showcasing how our work lives will change, this presentation explores how students can harness their STEM skills for maximum enjoyment, well-being and – perhaps most importantly – their career opportunities.
This interactive and informative experience is designed to inspire students to study STEM – both now and into their futures. It also shows how STEM is an important component of every job.
This touring program is aimed at students in years 5 to 6 to promote the pursuit of STEM careers. The show is available throughout metropolitan Perth all year, as well as some regional areas.
