STEM Club – 8-week program

From robotics and wearable technology to hands-on innovation workshops, there’s something for every student in our modular STEM learning program.

You have reached the main content region of the page.

We’re offering a customised 8-week STEM Club program this year, designed to grow 21st century skills and inspire children to solve practical challenges through contemporary application of STEM investigation.

Choose any combination of two 4-week Tinker & Create modules, or our complete 8-week animatronics program to elevate student learning capabilities in your classroom.

Tinker & Create #1 – Simple Machines (4 weeks)
Turn simple components into moving mechanical contraptions. Learn how to design and engineer a cardboard automation, including a dynamic clockwork machine.

Tinker & Create #2 – Take to the Skies (4 weeks)
Students will investigate methods to manipulate the forces of flight as they design and build rockets, planes and gliders through the innovation process.

Tinker & Create #3 – Electrifying Circuits (4 weeks)
Explore the secrets of wearable technology and e-Textiles by sewing your very own illuminated electronic mask with Lilypad components.

Tinker & Create #4 – Motion & Energy (4 weeks)
Students can uncover different ways to develop potential energy into mechanical motion by building helicopters, projectile launchers and fast-moving cars.

Animatronics (8 weeks)
Robots come to life as students construct an animatronic sculpture using the Hummingbird robotics kit. Participants will discover the inner workings of sensors, coding and technology while they program, engineer and test their designs.

Please note, a teacher must be present during all workshops for duty of care.
