Coding and robotics have a major role to play in the future of education, and this classroom kit will help get your students started!
Education Resource
Scitech robotics workshops provide instant engagement in STEM and creative problem-solving skills across multiple curricular areas. As an introduction to robotics for absolute beginners, the program is designed to be delivered by any teacher with zero prior experience and without spending hours learning how to deliver a new subject.
Containing everything needed to get started with the Digital Technologies curriculum, the kit includes a class set of robots along with lesson plans for a series of ten 1-hour classes. Extensively linked to the WA Technologies curriculum for Years 7 and 8, the program is designed to facilitate the delivery of numerous curricular outcomes in Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies.
The included robots can be programmed using Scratch, a free online programming language designed to help young people get started with coding, with a simple drag-and-drop interface. For teachers planning to learn the equipment and software before the first lesson, an extensive teacher manual is included.
The kit also includes a range of extension activities and challenges for more ambitious teachers and students.
This program can also be used as a gateway into teaching Scratch and Arduino programming in your own classroom.
