Activities

🎉 Pop-up Science!
Experience a selection of Pop-up Science activations. Some of these busk-style demonstrations are well-known and loved activations from Scitech’s past. Others will be brand new and will be seen for the first time.

👩‍🔧 Meet The Race Car Engineers
Listen and learn from Ashley and Morgan Ure, two talented engineers who worked on the ECU race car. Identical twins, Ashley and Morgan are also engineers here at Scitech and former Science Communicators. They will divulge the science and their experience of this race-winning car.

🚗 Aerodynamics Activation
Learn how the aerodynamics of a car is dependent on how much air the car has to move out of its way… In this brand-new activation, participants can experiment with the shape of model cars made from simple materials. The cars then can be raced down a track with their times recorded. What will be your fastest time?

🎅 Photo with Santa
How does Santa visit every house on Earth? What happens if your home has no chimney? And how does Santa get nine species of Rangifer tarandus to fly? Have all your scientific Santa questions answered while enjoying a free candy cane with the big man himself.

🧝 The Great Elf Hunt
Hiding amongst the exhibits are twelve cheeky Elves. Use your awesome-science skills to find their locations. Can you find all twelve of the cheeky elves? Let a staff member know and earn a Scitech sticker.
