You have reached the main content region of the page.

‘World Bee Day’ celebrates our hard-working little pollinators. And at Scitech, we’ll be finding out why bees are so important to the planet.

Wendy the Beekeeper & Helen the Honey Expert 11.30am and 1pm
Come meet Beekeeper, Wendy McIntyre and Honey Expert, Helen Humphreys at the Discovery Centre, where they will be presenting two fun and interactive sessions entitled ‘What do bees do in the hive?’. If you would like to learn all about bees, pollen, nectar and taste a honeycomb, then make a bee-line to Scitech!

Visit the Scitech Bees
Buzz on over to see the Scitech Bees! Their custom-designed hive features a special internal box for their home, a waste disposal area, and even heating to keep things at a bee-utiful 35 degrees Celsius, just the way they like it. See if you can find the queen bee and try out your best bee waggle dance!
