This breathtaking gallery houses a stunning visual spectacle titled ‘Kaartadjin Koorliny’. This immersive colour experience is facilitated by moving pneumatic pipes, a perception tunnel, musical lighting that responds to body movements and much more.

Learn through collaborative discovery and open exploration. All centred around three key words:

Think: stimulate the imagination, fuel critical thinking and inspire confidence to tackle complex challenges.

Create: personalised experiences combining STEM with gaming, circuitry, data visualisation and sensory elements.

Share: spark conversation and you’re welcome to capture content to share with others.

‘Kaartadjin Koorliny’ is a phrase from local Nyoongar Aboriginal language, which means ‘learning is always moving’. This name, chosen by Scitech in collaboration with Nyoongar Elders and representative groups, embodies the experience you will have in this exhibition.

Good to know

  • The gallery is aimed at young people aged 10–15, but will be enjoyable for all ages.

Think

See the world twist and morph before your eyes in our massive perception tunnel. Launch objects through high-powered wind tubes that form a gigantic maze.

A pair of hands letting sand sift through their fingers with coloured gradients of light on top.

Create

Create a racer and challenge others to the finish line. Mould your own landscape by hand as digital mountains, rivers and streams come to life.

Did you know?

The name ‘Kaartadjin Koorliny’ was chosen as it means 'learning is always moving'.

Pretty as a picture! This natural photo frame is made up of Tamala Limestone, found along more than 1000km of WA coast, from Shark Bay to nearly Albany. More accurately called 'aeolian calcarenite', this type of rock is made up of broken shell fragments brought ashore by waves and wind, and cemented by calcium carbonate. . 📸: @nature_camping_kids_ . . . #perthlife #explorewa #thisiwa #westernaustralia #perthbeaches #hamersleypools #indianocean #natureswindow #geology #limestone #geologyrocks

The human brain is pretty incredible. It's made up of approximately 80 billion nerve cells, called neurons that need to talk to each to keep your body functioning and your mind ticking. Here you can see the connections between brain cells! 📸: Jason Kirk / Quynh Nguyen / @nikoninstruments . . . #microscopy #microscopic #underthemicroscope #mindblowing #neurons
