Djinda Kaatijin at Scitech

Join us on 4 July to celebrate the start of NAIDOC week and let your imagination wander the cosmos with this wonderful storytelling play!

You have reached the main content region of the page.

Djinda Kaatijin, in Noongar, means “to understand stars”.

On 4 July 2026, the starting of NAIDOC week, Scitech will host 2 performances of roughly 1 hour each.

This energetic and playful performance reminds us all of our place in this world and importance of reconnecting with the nature around us!

Set 30,000 years after the Nyitting Time, join Weitj (Emu), Dwert (Dingo), and Wardong (Crow) as they travel across the Milky Way, on a mission to restore the fading stars – Djinda – to Noongar boodjar (country). Blending Dreaming stories from Australia, Spain, India, and Scotland, Djinda Kaatijin is an interwoven tale that celebrates our shared human connection to the cosmos.

Created especially for young audiences, the show explores the significance of the stars in storytelling, imagination and creativity.

Included with your Scitech general admission ticket.
