- Children under 4 years can only be admitted to the 10-minute Scitech Planetarium shows.
- Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- General admission tickets cannot be used for special events, school excursions or holiday programs.
- A booked Entry Ticket is valid for the date selected at the time of booking. To change your booked date or place your ticket on hold, contact Scitech (08) 9215 0700.
- A valid concession card must be shown at time of admission where a concession ticket is purchased (Senior, Pensioner, Health care, Australian Defence Veteran’s or full-time student card holders).
- A companion card holder must produce their card at time of entry.
- We only accept authorised discounts as described on the Scitech website, Scitech social media or co-promoted by reputable organisations known to Scitech. Unauthorised discount coupons found on websites or other sources unknown to Scitech will not be accepted.
- Tickets will only be refunded if cancellations are made no less than 2 business days prior to the booked date.

By purchasing a membership at Scitech, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
- ‘Membership’ or ‘Member’ includes ‘child’, ‘youth’, ‘adult’ and ‘mini-group’ members.
- You will receive an email with your membership numbers soon, in the interim, please use your ORDER NUMBER to make any online bookings in our Membership reservation link.
- ‘Mini-group’ Membership is limited to 2 adults and up to 6 dependents (child 0-12 and youth 13-17 years) residing at the same address/living within the same household.
- Unless otherwise stated, Membership commences on the date of purchase or issuance and is valid during the period up to and including the date of expiry.
- Memberships are non-refundable and cannot be paid on a pro-rata basis for part of a year.
- Your Membership is non-transferable. Only the named person/s listed on your Membership may use it.
- Your Membership number is required for entry to Scitech. If you have forgotten your Membership number, we will ask you for (photo) ID to assist with verifying you on our membership database.
- When using a concession card to purchase an Adult Membership, we recognise the following concessions:
• Centrelink issued Pensioner Concession card
• Centrelink issued Health Care card
• Seniors cards issued by any Australian State or Territory government
• Australian Veterans’ Affairs card
• Full time Australian tertiary student cards.
- Once activated, Membership cannot be suspended by the Member
- A Membership will be considered ‘lapsed’ if not renewed by the due date.
- Reproduction of a Membership number in any form is strictly prohibited.
- Your Scitech Membership entitles you to receive updates on events, experiences and exhibitions. The primary membership member(s) is/are responsible for ensuring the details of their Membership is always correct. If you wish to unsubscribe to our email communications please follow the prompts on your next newsletter or email marketing@scitech.org.au.
- Scitech may terminate your Membership if you fail to comply with these Terms & Conditions; abuse any privilege afforded to you under the Membership program, or misuse your Membership card or breach the conditions of entry.
- Scitech collects and manages your personal information in a professional and responsible manner and in accordance with the principles of privacy law. Personal information provided will only be used for Scitech purposes, such as the administration of Memberships, the provision of Membership benefits and planning, research and marketing of the Membership program. - Scitech reserves the right to update or change these Terms & Conditions of membership benefits at any time without prior notice.

By booking a party at Scitech, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Deposit:
A booking deposit of $100 is required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable and forms part of your final payment for your birthday party. You may change the date and/or time of your party using your $100 deposit. If you reschedule your booking, the new party date must fall within 6 months of the original party date. If you decide to reschedule a party, you must provide at least 4 weeks’ notice. Insufficient notice will result in your deposit being forfeited.
Payment:
Please note the minimum charge for a birthday party is $420, which covers the minimum of 15 birthday children. A maximum number of 25 children, including the birthday child also applies. The maximum number of people is to adhere to health and safety requirements of the birthday venue and cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
Full payment and confirmation must be finalised by 12pm on the Wednesday preceding the party. Changes to attendance numbers cannot be made after this time. If payment is not made by this time, you risk forfeiting your booking.
Entrance fees will apply to any children who accompany invited children (for example siblings) and extra adults. This entry fee is payable on the day at the admissions desk. Additional adults will be charged at the price of a child ticket. Any extra children will not be allowed in the birthday party room, be included in the birthday party or party activities and must be supervised within the centre.
Refunds:
Once the party payment is finalised, we will not be able to provide monetary refunds for any absent children. Instead, reimbursement will be provided in the form of one Complimentary Pass per absent child where the minimum of 15 children has been met. Complementary Passes can be used for child or adult entry into Scitech. It will be the parent’s responsibility to inform the Scitech Party Host of any absentees and collect passes.
Supervision:
Parental supervision is always required. Birthday groups are given a 1:1 adult/child ratio admission, which is included in the initial cost. We ask that these ratios are adhered to for reasonable supervision. Extra adults attending with the group incurs an admission fee (child’s rate) that is payable on the day at the admissions desk.
Arrival/Departure:
Children and parents must be assembled by the allocated party time. Liaise with our front of house staff for any enquires regarding cake storage, parking, meeting points and scheduling. Please note that latecomers may be excluded from the Science Theatre/Puppet show.
Catering:
You are welcome to supply food and drinks (non-alcoholic) for your guests to be consumed during your 40-minute use of the Private Party Room. Scitech will not be able to provide storage for party supplies, including perishables (except cake) before or after your booking. Scitech will provide tables, stools and crockery (plates, cups & spoons) for the invited children.
Birthday Cake:
You are welcome to bring your own cake. However, for your convenience, we can provide a Peters Neapolitan icecream cake at an additional cost of $15 (serves 10–12).
Cleaning:
Please take any left-over food you wish to save. Scitech will dispose of any food that is left behind. Scitech will clean all plates, cups and spoons provided by Scitech but cannot provide cleaning services for a customer’s personal equipment. Scitech will clean the Private Party Room after the party.
Party Schedule:
Birthday parties run for a total of 90 minutes and includes:
• a welcome greeting (10 mins)
• use of a Private Party Room before or after your show depending on session (40 mins)
• a Puppet or Science Theatre Show (30 mins)
• a science demonstration and presentation of the birthday certificate, gift voucher (10 min).
Scitech parties can be booked for the following sessions:
• 9.50am– 11.20am
• 11.50am–1.20pm
• 2.20pm–3.50pm.
Scitech is unable to provide additional time in the Private Party Room. You can take your supplies into the party room 10 minutes before your booked time. All people and personal items must vacate the room by the end time specified by the booking.
Party guests have unlimited free time in the Science Centre during opening hours (9.30am – 4.00pm) before and after your party.
No electrical appliances are allowed in Scitech due to occupational health and safety reasons.
Parking at City West:
Limited paid parking is available at City West. Scitech visitors have access to discounted parking rates via parking machines located inside City West Centre on levels G and 1. Just remember to make a note of your licence plate number and purchase your parking at the start of your visit.

By purchasing a Gift Card at Scitech, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
- Gift Cards are only redeemable for the product it is for, i.e. a General Entry Gift Card cannot be used to purchase a membership and vice versa.
- There are no replacements for lost gift cards.
- Gift cards are redeemable for 3 years from purchase.
- Once redeemed, refer to terms and conditions of the product that has been redeemed.
Additional terms and conditions apply to venue hire events, please speak to your event coordinator for clarification.
- All guests must present their ticket and valid ID for entry.
- Tickets can be printed or a digital copy can be presented on a smart device.
- A valid ID must be displayed on entry for 18+ events; Valid ID includes a current passport, an Australian driver’s license or drivers license permit or WA proof of age card.
- A valid membership card must be shown at time of admission where a member’s ticket has been purchased.
- Guests with a Scitech general admission ticket for everyday access to Scitech will not be admitted.
- Guests with a free pass will not be admitted, unless that free pass states that it is specifically for the event.
- We only accept authorised discounts as described on the Scitech website, Scitech social media or co-promoted by reputable organisations known to Scitech. Unauthorised discount coupons found on websites or other sources unknown to Scitech will not be accepted.
- Refunds can be provided when 48 hours’ notice has been given.

As a Parent/Guardian of a Telethon Kids Institute Discovery Centre Junior Scientist (Junior Scientist) by accepting these terms and conditions you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- You will ensure the Junior Scientist arrives at Scitech on time and is picked up on time. Junior Scientists must be signed in and out of this event by an adult.
- Parents do not have to remain present during the workshop. However, we do request that you remain in the vicinity of Scitech so that you are available in the event of an emergency. You will need to provide a mobile phone number that will enable your Junior Scientist to be contacted or collected if necessary, during the duration of the workshop. Should you wish to stay for the duration of the workshop, please let our team know on the day.
- You confirm that your Junior Scientist can follow clear instructions, remain calm and quiet when asked to do so; and will treat other Junior Scientists and staff with respect and courtesy.
- If the Junior Scientist’s behaviour puts them or others at risk, you acknowledge and accept they will be removed from the workshop, and you will need to collect them in a timely manner upon request.
- We discourage the consumption of food during the workshop. If Junior Scientists wish to bring a drink bottle containing water to the workshop, they may do so, however it is their responsibility to ensure their drink bottle does not get lost.
Enrolment in the Workshop
- A completed enrolment form and full payment is required prior to the commencement date of the workshop. A Junior Scientist’s place in a workshop is not confirmed until full payment is received. All payment and workshop registration must be made through Scitech according to their payment processing options. We reserve the right to limit the number of
participants in a workshop. - A person is not permitted to take the place of a Junior Scientist in a workshop for any reason without the full knowledge and consent of Telethon Kids Institute (Telethon Kids) and all required forms being completed.
Privacy
- While attending a workshop, a Junior Scientist may be photographed or filmed on video by Telethon Kids. You agree that such photos and footage may be used by Telethon Kids for promotional purposes, including but not limited to inclusion in printed materials such as brochures and newsletters and displayed on Telethon Kids’ website and social media pages, such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Junior Scientists are not themselves permitted to take videos or photographs that include other Junior Scientists. You should notify Telethon Kids staff at the start of the workshop if you do not consent to your child being photographed/filmed, and may withdraw permission for photos and/or footage of your child being used
after the workshop ends. - Contact information supplied by you to Telethon Kids relating to a workshop will not be disclosed outside Telethon Kids without your express consent, except where required by law. Telethon Kids does not retain any credit card information provided by you.
- Telethon Kids Discovery Centre will from time-to-time send correspondence to you for the purpose of marketing. Should you not wish to receive mailings from Telethon Kids Discovery Centre, please notify discoverycentre@telethonkids.org.au and you will be removed from our mailing list.
Indemnity
- If a Junior Scientist has an existing medical condition, allergy or disability that may affect their participation in a workshop, it is your responsibility to notify Telethon Kids of all the necessary details at the time of enrolment. This includes any allergies to latex (balloons) for Junior Scientists attending the workshops ‘Power of Our Lungs’, ‘Ear Explorers’ and ‘Get Your Heart Pumping’. In the event of an injury to, or illness of, a Junior Scientist occurring during participation in a workshop, you consent to Telethon Kids arranging any medical treatment that Telethon Kids considers necessary.
- You agree to indemnify and release Telethon Kids against all actions, suits, claims, and demands (including costs) for personal injury or property damage suffered by your Junior Scientist while participating in the workshops.
Updates to Terms and Conditions
- Telethon Kids Institute reserves the right to update and amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
14.Telethon Kids will provide notification of all changes by posting them on its website. - Unless otherwise stated, amendments will be effective thirty (30) days after the posting of the amended Terms and Conditions on Telethon Kids’ website and will become binding on each Junior Scientist upon their continuing participation in any workshop.
