Scitech's leadership team is comprised of Deb Hancock as Chief Executive Officer and seven department Directors.
Chief Executive Officer
As former chief exectutive officer of the Cairns Chamber of Commerce, Deb is an experienced, energetic and passionate CEO. Deb brings a wealth of leadership and executive management experience from the private and public sectors, and has a strong track record of engaging with government and the community to grow businesses and make a difference.
Director of Business and Finance
Gary has a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University of Technology and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). Prior to joining Scitech, he held the position of Regional Accountant with the Australian Wool Corporation and has held many other senior financial positions. Gary manages Scitech's Travelling Exhibitions.
Director of Science Programs
As the Director of Science Programs, Andrew leads the planning and implementation of engaging content in a wide variety of exhibition spaces, two theatres, a planetarium, and a science lab plus several events for over 300,000 visitors each year.
Director of Communications and Marketing
Paula leads the marketing, communications and digital functions at Scitech. Her team looks after traditional and digital communications, and engages online audiences in conversations about the world of STEM. She is responsible for increasing visitation to City West and through Scitech’s Statewide program.
Director of Excitement
Valerie leads the corporate and community partnerships team looking after dynamic and proactive industry relationships, Inspiring Australia – a Federal initiative supporting community STEM engagement groups and connecting with the Scitech Alumni. Science novelty: she can blow bubbles out of her tear ducts and has double jointed elbows.
Director Exhibitions and Operations
Jayne is responsible for leading the Exhibitions and Operations team who design, build and maintain Scitech exhibitions. They also travel exhibitions internationally so they can be enjoyed by visitors to science centres around the globe.
Director of Statewide
Nick is responsible for leading Scitech’s Statewide Department which aims to encourage Western Australians to value, use and study STEM. His team delivers a suite of tailored science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs to Western Australians in literally every corner of the state.
Director of ICT and Services
Carl has a Diploma in Datmatrix, a Diploma in Telecommunications, a BSc. Computer Science, and is an accredited Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute. He brings significant experience in delivering and managing IT solutions and services. Carl is responsible for Scitech’s ICT environment and services and execution of its ICT transformation strategy.
