Chevron Pilbara Teacher Support

Increase your STEM confidence, enjoyment and teaching capabilities with a professional development program as unique as the Pilbara itself.

Chevron Pilbara Teacher Support

The West Pilbara is STEM heartland. So this partnership between Chevron and Scitech is focused on improving the scientific capability of teachers where it’s needed most.

Scitech is proud to be a statewide organisation, and we believe in supporting all teachers. Whether that’s through professional development or creating a supportive community of people who inspire each other via a shared passion for STEM.

The initiative sees Scitech’s Professional Learning Consultants heading out to Onslow, Karratha and Roebourne. Our team then works with you, the teachers, to increase confidence in delivering science programs to students. So, by supporting you, we’re ensuring students can walk confidently into the jobs of the future.

The program visits 13 Pilbara schools, two to three times every term. To keep it fresh, we deliver different elements of the program every time, through workshops, collaborations, modelling, consultations, conferences, drop-in sessions and celebratory events.

Teachers have reported upwards of an 80% increase in satisfaction levels relating to STEM confidence, enjoyment and teaching skills after taking part in the program. But we didn’t need a mathematician to tell us that our educators were on board.
