Our dedicated partners enable us to do more, reach more, engage more and inspire more, every day. These partnerships continue to help us bring the very best in STEM, interactive learning and positive futures to all Western Australians.
With your support, we’re re-inventing STEM engagement and reshaping the delivery of our vision in the digital age.
Our partnerships play an important role in helping to transform lives, empower communities, diversify our economy and develop our future workforce.
We invite you to share in our successes on this journey.
Partnered by Rio Tinto
Scitech’s partnership with Rio Tinto enables us to take our unique STEM engagement out of the Science Centre at City West and on the road (and sometimes the airways) to visit every regional and remote community across the state.
Our Statewide team deliver a variety of experiences that range from primary school science shows and workshops to early learning programs, secondary school career festivals, shopping centre visits, community shows and DIY science kits.
This activity positively contributes to the engagement of over 500,000 West Australians in STEM every year.
We are proud of the impact our work has on WA children in shaping their futures. We’ve captured this in a short video story as seen through the eyes of our Statewide presenters.
Supported by Chevron and Rio Tinto since 2007.
These interactive, hands-on workshops have been developed with a cultural awareness of the people and landscapes of our regional and remote Aboriginal communities. Programs include student workshops and DIY Science Kits for primary and secondary students, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy
AEP DIY Science Kits are fully self-contained classroom resources – providing teachers with all the equipment and information to run engaging and relevant lessons.
Partnered by Alcoa of Australia.
Scitech has been working with primary schools in WA’s southwest, Peel and Perth metro area since 2012 to boost teacher capacity, confidence and leadership in teaching maths and in turn, improve student performance.
The program is guided by the latest research on effective maths teaching techniques, with input from leading experts from various universities and institutions worldwide.
“To set students up for success, we must spark their interest in maths and other STEM subjects early on, which is what the Alcoa–Scitech partnership aims to achieve,”
– Alcoa of Australia Chairman and Managing Director Michael Parker.
The Mitsui Intensive Robotics Program aims to develop capacity in robotics and STEM in Pilbara schools, through provision of both educational resources and face-to-face teacher support delivered by the Scitech Professional Learning team.
Delivered in collaboration with the Department of Education and Woodside, this exclusive three-year program offers Year 7, 8 and 9 students an unrivalled opportunity. They work alongside mentors from Woodside and explore the possibilities of STEM within a community of like-minded peers.
The program enables students to make the leap from Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) programs to high school. By undertaking hands-on activities in real-world contexts, students develop an appreciation for the usefulness of STEM in the world around them.
Since 2018 Scitech has partnered with Shell to deliver their global science, technology, engineering and maths program NXplorers.
NXplorers promotes an ‘agent of change’ mentality by challenging students to create relevant, realistic and positive solutions to issues facing their communities.
