A new professional learning program for Primary School teachers that will integrate digital technologies and learning into the classroom for deeper teaching potential.
As current jobs evolve and future work demands change, the reliance on digital technology and 21st Century skills will continue to increase. Supporting students in a rapidly changing world is now more important than ever, so equipping them with the necessary digital skills to adapt and thrive in future workplaces is critical.
Under the umbrella of the Alcoa Digital Technologies Enrichment Program, Scitech, in partnership with Alcoa, will be delivering two new professional development components for primary school teachers that will enhance students’ capability with learning, understanding and responsibility with digital technology and systems.
Alcoa Real World Digital Integration will be introduced in 2022. This one term program is aimed at developing teachers’ competency and engagement in exploring the integration of digital learning into the classroom.
Beginning in 2023, the Alcoa Champions of Digital Integration program will increase teachers’ competency with digital literacy and skills to meaningfully integrate digital learning across all subject areas.
The goal through the innovative Alcoa Digital Technologies Enrichment Program, is to support teachers with the skills and confidence to transform teaching practices, and future-proof students to become effective communicators, problem solvers and creative thinkers with the essential digital skills that will prepare them for jobs of the future.
