We are currently recruiting schools to participate in the Integrated Digital Technologies program, which will be provided for free in Term 4 2022 to select primary schools in the Perth metro region thanks to support from Woodside Energy.

This fully-funded term-long program is based on:

  • Engaging students with inquiry learning of Digital Technologies integrated within authentic learning projects
  • Developing teacher capacity and confidence, and improving teaching practices in the integration of the Digital Technologies curriculum into everyday learning
  • Supporting parents to make Digital Technologies feel safe and fun!

The program offers four to six teachers of Years 2-6 (including specialist teachers) the opportunity to participate in:

  • Two after school Scitech Professional Learning workshops on the effective integration of Digital Technologies
  • Individual face-to-face or online consultations to support teacher delivery of an integrated unit
  • Networking opportunities with participating schools in the area.

Participating schools will receive two free class sets of 15 Micro:bits for use in the delivery of any of the four provided WA Curriculum aligned classroom ready projects.

In addition, participating schools will have an opportunity to host their own afternoon community event called: “Catch a Hacker”. This will engage the school community with fun problem solving tasks based on the principles of coding.

Schools may also be offered a day-long STEM Challenge Day incursion for up to 100 students from Years 4, 5 and 6. During this day, participating staff will receive PL around the pedagogy and structure of the Design Process in action led by one of our Professional Learning staff, while students will engage with a design-thinking challenge framed in a real-world context and will develop, practice and hone their STEM and 21st Century skills in a fun, engaging and non-threatening environment.

Integrated Digital Technologies will be delivered to a limited number of schools. As such, a selection process is necessary to determine who will be selected for participation. When selecting schools, ICSEA, NAPLAN and the school’s alignment with the program are considered. To help us determine this last factor, please answer the following questions.

Upon clicking the "Book Now" or "Buy Gift Card" buttons a new window will open prompting contact information and payment details.
