Scitech has undergone a major transformation, unveiling 17 new exhibits as part of the Here, There and Everywhere gallery, just in time for the October school holidays.

Here, There and Everywhere is Scitech’s new permanent central gallery, inviting visitors to explore how science and technology are solving challenges in our homes, the Western Australian community, and around the world.

Scitech Chief Executive Officer Dr John Chappell said the gallery transformation was Scitech’s biggest in its 37-year history.

“This is Scitech like you’ve never seen before,” said Dr Chappell.

“While our previous central gallery explored fundamental science concepts, Here, There and Everywhere brings together the latest research and cutting-edge technology to showcase real-world science stories.

“Whether it’s stepping into an immersive digital Banksia Woodland, jumping behind the wheel of a recycling truck or, or taking control of an underwater remote operation, we believe people learn best through play, discovery and being hands-on.

“Here, There and Everywhere is designed to spark visitors’ curiosity, showcase the endless possibilities of science and technology, and highlight the relevance of STEM to our everyday lives.”

Fifteen of the 17 exhibits are unique to Scitech, having been designed and created onsite in the Scitech Workshop.

“The development of Here, There and Everywhere involved collaborating with industry partners to gather the latest research and real-world applications of science and technology happening here in WA and around the world,” Dr Chappell said.

“Scitech developed the concept of each exhibit, working on the science communications, computer modelling, software, electronics, fabrication, graphics and final installation of the exhibits.

“As a not-for-profit, whose mission is to inspire all Western Australians to engage in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, this gallery transformation would not be possible without the support of our generous partners.

“I would particularly like to thank our major supporters, the Western Australian Government Department of Energy and Economic Diversification and Lotterywest.”

Here, There and Everywhere will officially open on Monday 22 September 2025.
