Scitech is bringing an explosion of curiosity and innovation to Albany this December, with an exciting STEM Festival featuring hands-on exhibits, demonstrations, and a career fair with leading STEM employers.
Taking place from 4.30pm on Thursday, 4 December, the Future Makers STEM Festival is a free community event designed to inspire curious minds of all ages.
Families, students, and educators are invited to explore the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through interactive activities, pop-up science shows, and conversations with real industry professionals.
Scitech’s Secondary STEM Coordinator, Joshua Guy, encouraged the Albany community to join in the fun.
“Whether you’re interested in discovering different career opportunities, want to explore the latest in defence industry technology, or simply have fun with a hands-on challenge, there’s something for everyone,” Mr Guy said.
“We’re excited to showcase leading STEM organisations and highlight the amazing array of careers available in Western Australia.
“This festival provides a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand from industry experts about how STEM pathways can shape your future.”
The Western Australian Department of Education reports that 75 per cent of jobs in the fastest-growing industries require STEM skills, and demand will continue to rise.
With funding from the Schools Pathways Program, Scitech’s Future Makers initiative is empowering the next generation of innovators to explore how STEM knowledge and skills are transforming Australia’s defence industries.
