Alcoa Foundation Champions of Digitial Technologies EOI

This long-term digital learning program is the next evolution of the Alcoa Foundation Real World Digital Technologies program and is modelled on the highly successful Alcoa Champions of Maths program.

Teachers enrol in a full year of professional development designed to increase their competency to meaningfully integrate digital learning across all subject areas, enhance student learning opportunities, and support other teachers in the school to do the same.

Teachers who have participated in the short-term program, Alcoa Foundation Real World Digital Technologies (AFRWDT), are likely to be interested in further developing their confidence and competence through the long-term program, however previous participation in AFRWDT is not essential.

Eligibility

Alcoa Foundation Champions of Digital Technologies aims to support teachers to develop and implement units of work that integrate digital technologies into core curriculum learning areas, while providing students with increased opportunity to develop autonomy and practice 21st century skills such as problem solving, collaboration, resilience and perseverance.

How are these aims of the program aligned with your school’s strategic direction? *

Does your school, or the prospective teachers, currently implement any project-based learning, inquiry-based learning or STEM based approaches? If so, please share a little about them? *

Participating teachers will be asked to host a staff PL event and to lead a school community event. Please share how your school has facilitated similar events in the past? *

The ultimate aim of Champions of Digital Technologies is to train two teachers, who will then use their experience to go on to train other teachers in their school. How will the school support the two participating teachers to share their knowledge and expertise beyond the completion of the program? *
