Scitech / Earth Matters: Rethink the Future / Education Resources
Explore contemporary solutions to challenges presented by the changes in our natural world. How can data, design thinking and describing patterns help us see things in a different light?
Earth Matters brings together the interconnected threads of global environmental change. With striking data visualisation and immersive exhibits, this experience reveals the science of human and natural systems.
Our aim is to encourage students to:
We can help you choose an Earth Matters excursion for your class. During your visit, our Science Presenters will guide you through the exhibition and its related workshops and shows. All programs are linked to the Western Australian curriculum.
Your visit is supported by an Education Guide that includes pre- and post-visit resources. This is designed to incorporate the themes, content and skills explored during an Earth Matters excursion into your classroom teaching.
Before you book, read more about pricing, visit information, terms & conditions and public liability & safety.
1 of 4 A comprehensive education guide for secondary students
A tinkering activity that encourages students to take the first step towards developing alternative and sustainable ways of generating electricity in the future.
This workshop introduces practical, hands-on experiments which explore major challenges affecting our oceans. Students take on the role of marine scientist to develop their own solutions.
In this full dome planetarium show, students will learn about the diverse connections between organisms, helping them better understand how humans can support the diversity of life in our habitat, Earth.
How can we reduce the waste created when generating electricity? And can we reuse our waste to power the world?Lightbulb Moments explores how scientists use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to solve global energy and waste challenges.
This hands-on exhibit combines emissions data with journey parameters to create a visual representation of how our transport choices affect our carbon footprint through augmented reality.
Students can review their understanding of renewable and non-renewable resources as they compare the environmental impact of different transport choices.
