What’s On – Shows

🎈 Under Pressure – Chevron Science Theatre

Explore just how much pressure we’re really under as we use nothing but the ocean of air around us – and a little bit of science – to turn your world inside out and upside down. Join our Science Presenters to investigate, ask questions, make predictions, and test our ideas to understand some of the more surprising and unusual effects it has on the world around us.

🚀 A Little Space – Planetarium

Join in as we count down, take off and travel through space and experience the wonders of our Solar System. In this spectacular 10-minute voyage we’ll visit new worlds, navigate safely through asteroids, and even say hello to the Voyager spacecraft. This show has been created specifically for toddlers and is suitable for all ages.

🛰️ The Great Solar System Adventure – Planetarium

Join our showman extraordinaire on a death-defying journey to the planets. Explore the wonders and perils of our Solar System in this breathtaking immersive adventure. From the sun-scorched surface of Mercury to the icy expanses of Pluto and beyond, prepare to be subjected to the myriad dangers and wonders of our Solar System, on a breathtaking tour that reveals just how precious our home planet really is.

What’s On – Activities

🔴 Destination Mars | Feature Exhibition

Through 17 hands-on exhibits, you’ll be tasked with solving problems in a new land. From packing for your mission to exploring the surface of the Red Planet, you’ll get a taste of the science and technology needed to survive.

𖣘 RTIC Activity: Opito Wind Turbine Challenge

In this hands-on challenge participants will create and test their own wind turbine. By experimenting with the angle, height, number and placement of blades on the turbines, visitors can generate varying amounts of energy. Testing these different variables will demonstrate turbine efficiency and increase awareness of how the power of wind can be turned into electricity under the right conditions.

🧪 RTIC Grandstand

A new suite of Pop Up Science Busks will be premiered in the RTIC Grandstand. These are 10 minute “bite-sized” science demonstrations, covering a range of science topics.
