This National Science Week, your classroom can take part in a free virtual excursion from Scitech!
Year 3 – 6 students can become Sustainability Explorers from their classroom with a series of four 45-minute live digital sessions all around this year’s National Science Week theme of Species Survival – More Than Just Sustainability.
Tuesday, 13 August, 9.30am: Oceans
Wednesday, 14 August, 9.30am: Wetlands
Thursday, 15 August, 9.30am: Insects
Friday, 16 August, 9.30am: Deserts
A Scitech Science Communicator will be interacting with your students on the topics of fish sustainability, freshwater turtle management and insect ecology. Plus, each session features insights from real-life experts, showing the important real-world impact science has on conservation and sustainability.
We will also provide interactive activities and resources for teachers to keep and use in their classrooms to extend their students’ learning beyond the virtual excursion.
The Sustainability Explorers virtual excursions are designed to be accessible to regional and remote schools.
