Scitech / School holidays at Scitech
We’re hosting workshops these school holidays! Delivered by Scitech Science Presenters, join us in the lab for a variety of hands-on and STEM based workshops, created specifically for the 5-8 and 9-12 age groups.
Workshop fee includes entry to Scitech for the registered child on the day of the workshop.
This 2-day workshop takes participants to the dizzying heights of STEM through the exploration of flight. Participants will learn the forces of flight through building, testing and refining an assortment of soaring constructions, culminating in a design of their own!
Please wear enclosed shoes on the day. Workshop participants will use tools including craft knives and hot glue guns.
Dates: Monday 9 January & Tuesday 10 January | Monday 16 January & Tuesday 17 January
Time: 10am – 1pm
Duration: 180 minutes per session, 2-day workshop

Can you catch the ‘Dataville Hacker’?
Welcome to the town of Dataville! It’s usually a pleasant little town, but lately things have begun to go a bit haywire. There’s a Hacker on the loose!
Use your knowledge of coding and digital technologies to solve the crime and set things straight in Dataville. This workshop is designed for children aged 10+ and their families. Work together to beat the puzzles, find the clues and Catch the Dataville Hacker!
Dates: Wednesday 11 January or Wednesday 18 January
Time: 10am and 1pm
Duration: 60 minutes, 1-day workshop
Age: Suitable for children aged 8-12 years old with an adult
Capacity: 30 (Children and adults)

Operation: Ozobot.
Mission: Explore a new planet and return home safely.
Will your Junior Scientist turn our Ozobots into Mission Machines? Help the Ozobots explore a new planet by programming them to follow your commands. Explore how colour can be used to code, and how robots use sensors to help them move on their own. Programming can take an Ozobot anywhere – even to space and back!

Explore fantastic fizzes, playful pops and splatty slimes!
In this hands-on workshop, Junior Scientists will learn more about the wonderful world of chemistry by making bubbly volcanoes, launching a rocket and making their very own slime to take home.

Refunds will not be offered unless 48 hours’ notice is given.
Parents do not have to remain present during STEM Club – Take to the Skies, Fizz, Pop, Splat!, or Mission Machines workshops. However, we do request that you remain in the vicinity of Scitech so that you are available in the event of an emergency. You will need to provide a mobile phone number that will enable your Junior Scientist to be contacted or collected if necessary, during the duration of the workshop. Should you wish to stay for the duration of the workshop, please let our team know on the day.
