Get ready for an action-packed day of discovery and hands-on learning with the Future Makers excursion!
Students will roll up their sleeves in a practical innovation workshop solving real-world challenges, enjoy a captivating planetarium show, and have plenty of time to explore engaging exhibits at their own pace.
Future Makers showcases how STEM skills can lead to exciting and meaningful careers, inspiring students to see themselves as the next generation of skilled professionals, innovators, and problem-solvers.
Scitech is excited to offer this fully subsidised secondary school excursion as part of the School Pathways Program, making it free for all Western Australian secondary students (Year 7-12) for Terms 3-4, 2025 (now fully booked), and Term 1, 2026 (still available).
🛩️ Sky’s the Limit Workshop
Get ready for a high-energy, hands-on workshop where students tackle a real-world aeronautical challenge inspired by the defence industry. They’ll design, build, and test plane wings, using an iterative process to refine their prototypes for peak performance. Along the way, students will explore the world of engineering and discover the exciting possibilities of STEM careers. With a strong focus on collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, this workshop builds the skills that power the future of aerospace and defence.

Scitech’s world-class planetarium shows and guided tours inspire students to contemplate our night sky, the origins of the universe, and how they might get involved in the future of space exploration.

Access defence industry funding and resources
Department of Education school staff can apply for funding to access additional resources related to the defence industry, including financial assistance for transport to and from Scitech for your Future Makers excursion.
Schools can apply for funding under the Australian Government’s Defence Industry Schools Pathways Program 2024–26.
